Hard to answer about what's household.. You wouldn't maintain a house with it.

Yeah, understood. In my personal finances I have a category for household and it resembles the "junk drawer" in the kitchen with just about anything/everything imaginable in it.

Is this something that I would own out of necessity (vs desire)?

Well, maybe - that's hard to answer, we can manage without most things..

If I said absolutely yes or no I don't think it would lead you to the answer!

Marital aid?

I can imagine an application for it, but that's not its intended use :)

Is it soft? Like cloth/polymer?

No, no part of it is soft.

Is it heavier than ...
(...hmm, we need a standard for weight...)
...a Coke can (right?) that is still full?

This one may be about the same as a can full, but assuming I'm going to have to accept a general description, some types are less.

We know that the two parts are separate, but that the white part is not a lid nor lid-ish in any way.

Are the two parts connected in any way, even if by tether?

For the tan (lower) part, is the curve part of a closed shape, like the top of a cross-section of a tube?

They "live" together, but there's no mechanism like a tether.

Is the diameter more than about 3"?
