Depends on your strategy
If you take guesses as thoughts cross your mind, you'll be there forever unless you happen recognise the thing directly, by association or subconsciously.
Finding out whether the thing is common or not, probably reduces the options from infinity to infinity/3. Which might help, or not...
And so on.

It would be an interesting project to develop an AI algorithm

I've just had to use it, so it looks a bit different, but the part you can see is the same.
