This was supposed to be an easy one.
Would this sit on a kitchen counter/island/table when being used?

AntonLargiader Goldmember More info | No, it is a bulge that has the reflection there. It's just not a separate feature, like a tube or a rod. Image editing and C&C always OK

We're looking at the bottom, but that surface is convex. The curve would make the item unstable if it were set on its bottom like many kitchen things about the same size. For instance, you can't cook in it on a stovetop. PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | Comments welcome

The picture shows the entire width of it, which is maybe 12~20mm depending on the particular one. The fuzzy stuff on the side is just a towel holding it in place for the photo. Please clarify the units. Have you gone into your kitchen and looked at the underside of common handheld items? No. I've only searched my memory for what the bottoms of kitchen things look like. This thing appears to be part metal and part unidentified brown material (the darker parts, not the fuzzy stuff). PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | Comments welcome

Well, it doesn't levitate in storage. Does it perhaps get stored vertically? AntonLargiader wrote in post #19560320 It is mm. I'm really sorry for any confusion that caused. Thanks. OhLook wrote in post #19560274 You said it's not strictly hollow, but is it a container of any kind for food, ingredients, or liquid? New question: Is the dark brown stuff at the top an insulating material? PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | Comments welcome

Old question: New question: Is the dark brown stuff at the top an insulating material? Gets stored all sorts of ways. How do you store a pencil? Flat, vertically in a small basket, in a pencil clip, dangling from a string, behind your ear... probably not those last few in this case though. Flat or in a holder would be typical. Is the black stuff insulating material? You said it's not strictly hollow, but is it a container of any kind for food, ingredients, or liquid? PRONOUN ADVISORY: OhLook is a she. | Comments welcome

Is the black stuff insulating material? And a slightly old question: Yes. No. And not functionally hollow in any way; not a container. Well, I guess it could be made that way, like a screwdriver can be hollow to store different bits, but no. Image editing and C&C always OK
