It sounds like it might be more of a bowl shaped vase. I guess we will know tomorrow.

No metal whatsoever. The rust looking coloring is due to the macro effect and partly due to the age of the item. This item is not metal but some of the items it is used with are.

I had difficulty with this object because its design is so unusual that it doesn't have a well-known name. "Planter" would have been closest.

For the new object, are the orange, black, and green areas all part of it?

Everything seen in the image is part of the item. The black part is close in color to the "orange." It is probably darker due to the angle of the lighting.

The item itself is organic. The surface layers that can be seen could be partly organic but if manufactured today they would not be.
