He's a chemist, reveres Dumbledore and it's irreligious.
It's a Bronze award or Gold (ish) award for potion mixing :) .

I assumed the base was the other material.

Metallic paint covered resin figure of a person not doing anything except being a statue.

In a style:

?
I suspect you have something else in mind.

Give me the artistic style and I will probably give you the benefit of the doubt .... the description above is pretty accurate:-)

Does the statue have one human body or two?

Thinking correctly also ... just the one in this example

You may think so, but I don't feel close at all. In asking whether the possessor acquires these without paying, I had two things in mind: toys, such as soldiers (usually gifts), and trophies. One might also include prizes found in cereal boxes. But you say the possessor pays.

Does the item consist of a free-standing figure and perhaps a pedestal or base, as opposed to, say, an ornament attached to something larger?

YES. to "a free-standing figure and perhaps a pedestal or base"

ROFL it is irreligious in the sense of not being religious ... it is not antireligious.

And you get certificates for potion mixing in my university, not statues

Does the figure represent a real historical (or current) person?

It was probably modelled from life. I do not believe that the model is a significant historical figure ....... but I apologise if that is not correct.

Does it have any other function, than being art? Like a lamp or photo frame?

Many similar examples are lamps. This one is not

We have an emoticon for eye rolling but none for sighing.

The model and the person/character represented needn't be the same. A sculptor might hire an unknown model for a figure study and call the artwork "The Spirit of Innovation" or something. I was asking–

Never mind. Chris got it just now.
