What is the difference between their waffle devices and our Belgium waffle irons we use here in the U.S. that are real common at hotels that offer continental breakfasts?

Is the purpose of the wooden thing mostly functional?

Your tarmacs are our roads. Only time you hear tarmac used here is when people are talking about airport runways. In the Southeast half or better of our citizens pronounce "road" in such a way where the emphasis is on both the "a" and the long "o." I guess the best way to describe the way it is said is to say it is close to ro-a-ed all slurred together.

The wooden thing is entirely functional.

We don't have tarmacs, as far as I'm aware. A guy named MacAdam invented the stuff, but I've only heard roads called tarmacs in former British colonies in Africa.
Here you'll hear all variations of roowad, ro(r)d, ra(h)d...
We don't have freeways though. They're Motorways. We used get our Motor out and go Motoring .
We don't have Interstates either. We're always in the same bloody state.

Dunno mate. Beyond me. I think theirs are made of WWII hand grenade cases, and used for something with chocolate.
Some sort of foreign food.

The reason I thought you called roads tarmacs is because the writers of Bike Radar used to. I am disabled now enough I avoid riding bicycles but when I rode, that magazine was much more informative than ones published in the States. They used tarmac for roads and spelled tires tyres. But, they did use miles which surprised me. I thought all of Europe was on the metric system.

Is the item a common household object.

If a group of rabble rousers with malicious intent threw this item off the Shanghai Tower to see if they could slide down the banister and beat it to the concrete, would they win as wind resistance and weight would allow them to win? Or would this pretty much kill the innocent bystander expressing how close the item was getting to hitting them?

It isn't an item of the Shanghai tower, so no.

I had a Norton Dominator with tyres...

I wouldn't say it's a common household item. I have a couple of other designs, this one came to me first.

Yes to part 1 or part 2? It makes a world of difference!

If the innocent bystander were expressing anything, he probably wouldn't be dead at the time. Or even pretty much killed?

This looks like the things my grandmother put on furniture feet to stop the floor getting scratched. But would only work if it had a felt bottom (Chet!!!!) .... does this have a soft material bottom?
