Yep

It's an aftermarket one, which is a bit squinty - I'm assuming that's so you can rotate it to alter the angle a bit.
Some of the OE ones are black, certainly more of them used to be.
Now you can hopefully see that my background of some sort of textured flattish layer, wasn't misleading.

Now you all know what it is, you'll see them every time you're stopped in traffic

I think it's about the best item I've used for the quiz, because everyone has seen them, semi consciously. Comments?
My wife, though, had no idea what it was. My buttonhole scissors were a conscious anti-bias effort on my part. I could do a string of things which would tend to be harder for females.

I still don't know what it is or where on a car to look for one. Yes, I saw the phrase "parking sensor." I haven't driven in decades, and I don't think cars had such a feature in antiquity.

Lol, I only drive cars 10 and older that aren't fancy.

I have an 11 year old car which doesn't have them either - hence having 4 handy in a box to add later. $24 from China I think.

I walked past about 20 cars, and saw versions of these on half of them. They're shoved through a hole in the bumper/fender, front or rear.

As Ed said, most are colour-coordinated. Most are flattish too.

OK Chet, we can do you the inside of a Rotor Arm or a motorbike advance-retard lever, but that would leave Ohlook high and dry, perhaps.

As a thought, if we asked for, or supplied a field such as "photographic", or "kitchen" then we could be more obscure.

(1) Familiarity varies. Some participants are sophisticated gear users with many accessories, others not. (2) They've been done a lot, like kitchen tools, brushes, knives and combination tools, and food. After several years of the game, it's hard to avoid repeating subjects.

OK. I know we say this every time, but this one should really be easy.

It is an everyday object. It is not an antique one-legged tinkers tool for manufacturing shoes, it is not an obscure piece of scientific apparatus.

Is it a tableware thing( (egg)/cup, saucer, plate?)?

Sequentially no to art, no to function (to the best of my knowledge), not really tableware although it could be on a table

All of my macros are super. What are you implying.?

However, the object is not super small (greater than a few nanometers) and not super large (less than a few light years) and will fit in a bread box without the assistance of a black hole
