It can be used to let air out of a tyre, but be careful, that is not its intended use.

It could be used to measure indicators, but the average user would not use it for that.

It has nothing to do with valves, tubes, or even rims for that matter.

The item is on that page, but you really have to look for it.

Tread depth gauge?

Off to scour that page ;)

Didn't see it there, but, a contender:

Here is a less zoomed in image, of the item.

The item is a tread depth gauge. On the link you provided it is in one of the images, but you have to push the arrow a few times to see it. It is inside a pack that looks like it is made to carry in your back pocket or carried like a sidearm tucked in the back of your waistband.

Here is an image of the whole object. Sorry for using the link, I can't figure out how to use Flickr on the phone.

Phew. I was fixated on the round part going over the end of the thread. The black material would have been too hard, though.

I assume I'm up next?
Any requests? Grindler's witchett? Sagar maker's bottom knocking stick?
Bits of insect?
Everyday? Easy? Impossible?

Yes. You are up next. Trying to figure out this Flickr App distracted me. Normally I just pick the BBC option and that is all there is to it. But, I just could not find that option.

I struggle with phones...
Bring on phones you can unfold, so they have decent sized screens. It won't be long.

I'm pausing for inspiration. Seriously, is there any field which isn't visited much?

I could name one, but then if you chose an item from that field, everyone would have a head start. Macros that make the best games IMO are taken of everyday objects but show too little for easy identification.

Do you know I was walking along the street yesterday and looked in a shop window and saw three pairs of buttonhole scissors. I would never have known what they were without this competition!

This has not been photoshopped, just cropped. It's sitting on my medium-oak desk.

I'm looking for an adjective + a noun.

Maybe we'll get suggestions from Chet this time round?

DO be careful ;)

No, it's sitting directly on the wood of the desk!

Being this is the macro guessing game, I assume this is a macro. I seem to remember you posting something from a Canon MPE-65 so I know you can go to at least 5X. Having said all that, I have to wonder two things. First, is the item just the colored part? Secondly, if so, is the item smaller than a square centimeter?
