It sounds silly when I read it back, but is it a catch?

It sounds silly in the context of the hints and it is not a catch. But I agree with you ... it looks exactly like one of those catches on kitchen units that are a pain to adjust.

OK here we go

Chris ... you have a free pass to attend my lectures on molecular photophysics if you are in this part of the world. You will learn unlimitedly boring things about the differences between fluorescence, luminescence and phosphorescence!

This new one is hard I think.
It is an object that many households will have.
I suspect it is used by fewer households that own one - but I might be wrong.
The object is primarily used by one profession.
There is enough in the (badly out of focus- sorry) image to identify the object:-)

I would be most interested in your lectures, where can I find the lecture notes?
I'm currently preparing a series of talks for schoolkids on modern microscopy, - phase, DIC, confocal, 2 photon, STORM, NLOM and whatnot, and another in Biological and Structural Colour in Nature. Hence the Peacock. Also trying to explain the influence of chiral structure on birefringence.

A bar stool is the sum of it's parts.

The place for bored (and boring) people is the Title Fairy Thread.

Also you better be careful, the staff position of grammar and spelling police is OhLook's. She may report you for trying to take over her territory.

I am neither eating, shooting nor leaving.

Chet .. you screwed it up.

OhLook ... give him a bit of Leeway

NoGo ... how did I miss that thread.

And back to the game ... it is a macro. ChrisR might possibly have one or something like it in his household.

I have one. I did not know I had one until this morning when my wife said it would be good for a macro.

I have never used one. I have always used something that does the same job in a less specific manner.

I don't understand buttons so it is nothing to do with buttonholes vmad

Nah, I'd have complained about the capital "L".
