A toothbrush?

Chet, you asked that already.

I asked this already, too. Is it related to food or drink?

I understand. Though Chris.R did state that any old fool might have one.

I looks like a leveling foot on something?

Or a pivot point for some sort of quick release?

Neither

Ed's apparently busy.

I should forget about the word "profession". Any old fool might have one.

To all three above!
Sorry, just driven down to the Camargue.
OhLook .... the fact that one profession primarily uses it does not eliminate your possessing one. In fact, your location probably means that you have an above average chance of possession.

Food related ... I think this is what ChrisR said would be interesting. Strictly ... no. But Brillat-Savarin had something relevant to say on the topic.

I saw one of these items being used three minutes ago.

Brillat-Savarin, eh?

Is this a tool that can be used in food/drink preparation but was designed for an unrelated task?

Brillat-Savarin - splendid fellow. Epicure, studied law, science, 5 languages and taught violin.
I offer only 4 though my instrument's bigger; but I'm sure he was better at them all.

Fellows - ask how large is Ed's instrument ;)
