Sorry about the use of the term striker. My knowledge of flints proceeds the twenty first century. Back during the last century, I can remember many times building a fire with a flint I knapped myself, a striker (I forged myself), and a ball of tinder (dried dead grass I picked myself). Of course, most of the time I added a pinch of black powder into the tinder to light the hearth. That was a long time ago though. I guess no one calls the steel in a flint and steel a striker anymore.

Moving back into the twenty first century, or maybe just the twentieth, here is the next item.

The look is not due to panning but there may be a slight amount of motion blur. A normal view of this item does not look like that. You really need to look very closely to see the texture.

Yes, it is a solid object. My guess is that part of the item was produced from a heap of very fine particles.
