This is not expanding insulation. It is also not what would commonly be considered a polymer.

But, I will not say it is not a polymer for it is possible it may be considered such under one of the broad definitions of the word. To be fair, it is very inflexible; therefore, I don't believe it is a polymer, but I am uncertain as to just exactly what it is made from, so I can't simply answer "No."

I feel bad for dbs_jd. If I'd answered his question promptly, he may have gotten it. Anyway, Nogo posted the correct answer first. My 'you own it', 'you don't own it' comments were based on people's gear list. The actual item is a Canon LC-E6 battery charger. Here is the full shot:

No problem!

I was looking for something else and found an item that should make an interesting macro. Hope it is not too easy... On the other hand I hope it is not too hard. :-|

Is it some kind of bread or cake?

It is not food. Nothing eats this whatsoever.

No. Many strong molecular strength acids may dissolve it, but technically they would not "eat" this item.

P.S. You know there is a chemistry professor playing this game, don't you? We have to be more technical than the average American on this board, you know.

Does it serve to cushion something?

Above I stated it is "very inflexable." Maybe is should have said it is very hard. It is not as hard as steel or glass, but it would be too hard to be of any use as a cushion.

Is it found in nature, not manufactured?

This item would not be used to repair any of those products. The substance this is made from could be used, mostly indirectly, in the repairs of those items but I doubt it would be commonly
done.

This is a manufactured item but only the novelty version of this item would be mass produced. This type of item to be usable must be individually produced.
