Looking for a lens for portrait shots of the grand kids. I do ok with my 70-200 but thinking I could get better looking shots with a prime. Thinking 85 1.8 or 50 1.4. Appreciate your suggestion. Lens would be used on my 5D3.

Apr 09, 2013 22:03 | #6 For portraits on a 5D III, look no further than the 85 L f/1.2 L II. On a budget, the 85 f/1.8 would also make a good choice. Agree. Some folks here thinking shooting models instead of grand kids. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm

I don't use the soft focus feature, but get great shots with very nice creamy background wide open. _______________
