Dirty knees but look at these...

Tried to catch the last rays of sun today after little one had a hard day in the dirt. C&C appreciated as I'm trying to get back to all this and need lots of practice. Thank you.

Did you shoot it in raw? Looks really good to me just like you said a tad soft on my end. Skin tones and colors look good to

I like it (trust you're happy with the sharpness aspect on your end). Perhaps shot a little bit tight on the bottom and left side, and watch your backgrounds - it's a bit nitpicky but a tree has sprouted from the child's head, and the pathway is visible.

That said I think it's a very good shot in terms of what matters most - your subject is cute, natural and shown in an excellent light.

Yes, RAW is the only way I shoot.

Yes, I notice the tree now that you point it out. It's so easy to just focus on the (moody and impatient) subject that your mind blurs out the background whereas the camera doesn't. I'll try to keep those details in mind next time.

It's hard to tell on here, but his shirt seems to be pretty sharp. Maybe just mis-focused a bit??

IMO it is over-saturated...his skin tones are effected quit a bit. I would also remove that tree and crop some off the top.

The focus: I did focus on his eye but it wasn't center focus. Add to that a wiggly, impatient subject and yes, the possibility of getting the sleeve in focus instead improves greatly. lol

I like the pp from Spike44 - I'm not sure why mine was so saturated. I did not touch that in DPP or in pp. I'll go back a try to get that tree out also.
