Thought some of you might like to see my string tripod on Quirky.com

You can also help design it, name it etc...

Quirky is a crowd design site if you didn't know....

And a string tripod is something you push up on, the string pulls down and you get about 3 stops of stabilisation.

Screws into tripod mount on bottom of camera; and has two strings coming off with foot pedals on them. The strings are retractable to not be int he way when not using. If you are standing on the foot pads and pulling the camera up; you gain a few stops of image stabilization.

Hmmm ok, I think I understand I googled string tripod and found a few picstures as well. So I understand the concept. I just kept trying to figure out how the strings would support the camera (like a true tripod does).

Yea... not something i'd use very often; though I've been tempted to pick one up for traveling. Already look like a tourist; would that much more hurt for sharper pictures in ancient cathedrals with no tripod signs? Though I'd probably get a belt one for convenience. Look even nerdier walking around hiking my own pants up.

Maybe a little over-engineered . . .
