I had this lens about 7 years ago. Biggest regret of my life was selling it. Takes some incredible shots that don't even need PP

This lens was released last year...

I recently got this lens and since I also have the previous, non-Art version, I've been doing some focus testing to see which one to keep. I got the Art version tuned in to my 7D with a +6 on the MA but the non-Art version seems to vary a bit and am having trouble tuning in on a consistent setting. One other thing I noticed was that the 7D thinks both lenses are one and the same rather than two different lenses. The MA feature keeps the same settings between the two lenses rather than separate settings for each lens. I do have the "Adjust by lens" option selected so it should save separate settings for each lens.

It is a bit too big for a bike around lens. Other than that, I am happy. My third Sigma lens. The other two have vanished.
There is CA, purple fringing at 1.4 on high-contrast subjects but there is also a Lightroom profile that helps you to deal with it.
It is a bit soft on 1.4...now show me a lens that isn't. On my SL-1 the Sigma is clear and crisp compared to the EF 28mm f/1.8 which again can be used on my EOS 5D III.

Please, Canon, make an EF-S 20 mm f/2.8 pancake!

I can confirm. I tried the 30 Art on my dad's Canon 6d. The pictures looked amazing on it. However, the image circle couldn't quiiiiitte make the full frame. The edges of each corner were dark. Was easy to fix in processing...but just wanted to throw it out there to y'all.

The pictures I took weren't nearly as vignetted as the 12th post in that link. It was only barely covering the four corners of the pictures.

Have you got a sample perhaps? The 35mm art is beyond my budget, so the 30mm is VERY attractive to me with my 5Dc. Does anybody have full frame pictures ? Thanks!

The 30mm has not been constructed for the full-frame sensor. Without testing you cannot know how it will focus or expose let alone what your camera will think of it.

I know the 28mm f/1.8 is not the sharpest lens in the shed but at least your 5D will recognize it. (I have one)

here's one with the SL-1 and the Sigma...a mixture of lightsources complicating my life. It was a cold day so I left this picture on the cool side as well.

and another one, discreetly in available light...RAW and WB adjusted 'to feeling' in Lightroom.

It is funny, it should be mathematically equivalent to a 50mm on the full format but of course it is not.
The full frame sensor is bigger (yeah, I know for sure) so the DOF is smaller. The crop sensor is more forgiving.

How do you find the focus performance?
