Maybe she titled it Bowie because the guy on the far right looks like David Bowie from the 80s? Maybe?

I thought that too, but IMO it's doesn't rate a "Best of" anything?

^ Are you sure this is not a kind of "Razzie award" competition?

I didn't see any evidence of that in the newspaper article on it. It seems that they would have made the point somewhere.

With most of these "contests," what you really win is the right to spend money on a coffee-table book with one of your pictures in it, and not much else.

I've checked. Such books usually contain pictures of all those "winners" who paid for a copy. The "winners" who don't pay get edited out.

Skip the "contest" and make your own book. It'll be cheaper and nicer, and all the pictures will be yours.

Just be sure that what you may win is worth winning. Usually, it's not.

Would anyone really want to print and frame any of those photos? Yeck! I'm just not seeing it.

Note to self: Do not bother to visit Lawrence St. Gallery.

The trick is to enter the correct shows. The ones where you know the judges and you know that what they like to do lines up with what you like to do.

I agree, these judges must like to do lines (silver spoon, hint hint).

The photographer is apparently into brevity, only 3 photos in portfolio slideshow (external link).
