DPP/EOS Utility on new Macs

Just treated myself to a new MAC and they come with NO DVD/CD Tray.

I have the DPP/EOS disc, but obviously cannot load them on my new machine.

Anybody know how to get round this as I am now stumped, or do I buy an external?

Download the programs from Canon's website.

Thanks but those are UPDATERS you need the original DISC.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought you could only download the updaters from their webpage? I remember running into this same issue a while back and thought that was what I came away with....

I know this sucks, but I picked up a usb external blu-ray drive specifically to have a physical drive in times like this...otherwise, if you have an older mac with a drive you can share it across a network or make an image of it and load it via thumb drive

This issue has arisen before, and someone posted a link to the original software that could be downloaded (not updaters). I will try to find it.

Cheers Todd good luck, i'm just about to kill my wife for making me buy a useless hunk of junk, everything I own is on disk, from camera to printers, you have about 25 years with good behaviour to find the answer.

Edit, just trying to C&P from a disc to a PHDD to see if that will work.

The downloads online that are the updates are actually the full versions, or at least they were a year ago.

The issue is that in order to install the updates, the installer looks for the programs previously installed on the machine.

What you can do is trick the installer into thinking the programs are already on your machine, and it will install the updates as the full install.

See if DPP ver. 1.0 is still available from the Japanese Canon site (if not, I can forward it, it's only 7.2 MB).

That version will install without any condition and will work as the key for subsequent installations.
