I spent a lot of time out this weekend photographing birds, hoping to see some early arrivals from the spring migration. I didn't have to much luck. We still have about a week before things really get going.
Thanks for looking.

We still have White-throated Sparrows in our backyard.

White-winged Dove

Red-bellied Woodpecker (male), I accidentally cut off his tail. I'm still kicking myself for that.

Mockingbird

Red-winged Blackbird (female)

Not the best shot but... A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher looking out over the lake at sunset.

A great series, Brad; now, it's time you send your white-throated sparrows north as we could use them.

Very nice series with great variety Brad!
You're seeing alot of the same thing I'm seeing with a delay in any interesting migrants and WTS still hangin' around. I also chop the tails of red-bellieds - :) ...they're a dang looong bird.
Your Mockingbird capture is top notch too. I hope you're right about things picking up the next week or 2.

Thanks Allan, I'll try to send them back north as soon as I can along with the white-crowned sparrows. :)

Thanks a bunch Steve. We still have savannah, Lincoln, song, WCS and WTS. Also cedar waxwings and a few yellow-rumped warblers. If timing goes as usual we'll have oriloles, warblers and buntings here by the middle of next week. They have already been spotted in southeast Texas.

Thanks a bunch Scott. I think the woody is my favorite too. The clipped tail gives me a reason to go back out and try again.
