Been taking the feedback of everyone on here in consideration. Here's a few I snapped of my sister and gf yesterday evening:

I'm definitely not a portrait expert and I don't exactly know how to 'fix' this (maybe it's just me, or I need a 'procedure'), but I found myself drawn away from the subjects faces and to their legs (specifically knees) in all but the last shot.

One thing I do notice is that their legs/knees are lighter than their faces. Possibly the angle of lighting, but might also be tweaked a little in PP?

Yea I saw what you were saying. I went back and did some tone correction to their legs. The first post has been updated. Thanks for the critique :)

Very nice set, well done. The only issue I see in any of them is the crop/composition in #2 - a bit close to the bottom of the frame.

One thing to keep in mind is that body parts closer to the camera than the face (the general focus point) tend to look larger than they are - knees for instance.:)

Thanks for sharing these.

MY thoughts about composition. Our eyes seek balance in shapes and lines in photos. Any element of the photo that creates a shape, or lines that lead, should either balance or direct the eye to the subject.

In this respect, you are fighting an uphill battle with this set. In 1, 3 and 4, you have a unique triangle created by the horizon, which is significant enough that it might balance your subjects in the photo, if not for the addition of the sunset. Our eyes are drawn to sunsets, and to my mind, the triangular shape is competing for attention with your subjects. In addition, the subject in 1 (GF or Sis?) is sitting on a big piece of concrete that is actually creating another unbalanced triangle, which is throwing the photo out of harmony.

With regards to the rest of the set -- the tree is not your friend. Its massive, and your slight off center positioning of your subjects relative to it is throwing the photo out of balance again.

On the plus side, colors are great and everything that should be sharp is sharp. Everyone looks happy too!

Best.

I think it is also worth mentioning that the pictures would have benefited from a CTO gel on the flash to balance the light a bit more. Overall great pictures though!

for me photo #4 should have made the legs go toward the back and have the upper body lean forward a tad. Have her change the seat position to make the upper body / head more stand out, not her knees. JMO

I like the 4th one a lot - I think with a liiiiiittle extra space on the bottom and left side, it would be even better!
