I wanted to share with Forum members the results of a collaboration between Don Ellis, in Hong Kong, and myself, in Albuquerque New Mexico.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a photo and asked for comments. Few emerged, but Don saw the image and responded--with his reactions in the form of a short essay. I suggested to him that we produce a joint product--to be displayed on both our webisites, with my image and his words.

My link is found at: http://129.24.208.200 …Interests/photography.htm (external link)

and Don's link at: http://www.kleptography.com/index.htm (external link)

While Pekka and Fred Miranda collaborate to improve the output from their D-30s, and share it with others, both Don and I want to encourage others to look for ways to go beyond lurking and viewing, and even posting--although these are the things of webs and 'nets and forums. Don and I may never "meet" in person, yet we have made a connection that reflects a mutual respect and admiration. And we wouldn't have found that if this forum had not been here (thanks Pekka!).

Hope you enjoy our efforts.

cheers,

I'm a fan of yours and quite frankly enjoy the style you have displayed lately. A friend of mine who does advertising indicated your Anna shot was interesting and likely will attract commercial attention.

As for your new e-friend Don, well, I have never seen macro work even close to that good. Most macro work that I see is way overcooked in the sharpen category and the flower petals look like wood. Don has retained the softness of the petals while adding rich deep contrast and detail to everything else.
