I am only considering these two bags. Think tank, crumpler, and others are not really what I am looking for and are too pricey for what I am needing.

I am trying to decide between the Lowepro Event Messenger 250 and the DIY stealth bag with a canvas bag.

I like the look of both, but I am thinking that the lowepro seems a bit too boxy and stiff. Which would you guys choose? Seems like the DIY bag is a lot more popular on here.

I have a few bags and one thing I find about Lowpro is the consistency of the quality. They may not be the best, or the most expensive, but I have never had one fail on me in any way. All my zippers work as good as the day I brought them.

Lowepro's are good bags, ive had a few and never been disappointed, and the lowepro customer service is good to deal with, also check the Lowepro toploader range, for everyday use I use a Toploader pro 70AW and changed the strap to a OpTech S.O.S Curve strap, for walking about this is a nice combo, it carries one body with either the 16-35, 24-105 or 135 attached, 3 batteries, memory card tuff case and a few cloths, enough kit for walking round churches and national trust sites :D

Stealth bag.....at least that's what I did choose when faced with the same question

I've been using it for about two years and its still going strong. Only issue I've had with it was the inside liner stated to tear so I ripped the whole thing out (I was always an annoyance to me from the beginning)

For about a year I carried it daily. It's the one bag my gear is always in ready to go when ever I need it.

I am really leaning more towards the DIY bag. From videos and pictures, the event messenger just seems VERY brick like and I do not think that will be as comfortable. I am assuming the DIY bag will conform a bit more to your body?

I had a Lowepro before switching to TT- it was a good quality bag for the money.

All depends how much you put into it...right now I have a 60D with 17-70 OS attached, a 60mm macro, 8mm fisheye, flash, and 2 flash triggers all in the camera paddy in the main compartment. The add and all kinds of extras (batteries for flash and camera, filters, memory cards, ect..) in the other pockets.

Like that it doesn't have much give. However once I pull the camera out (if I'm walking around the camera is attached to the bag strap with the capture clip) the bag forms nicely to my body.
