I have Fastone as my deafault browser and DPP as my Raw work flow editor, I open my card reader files first through Fastone to check they have downloaded, then I open them In DPP and do my Raw adjustments before saving as a Tiff and opening again In Fastone for final sharpening etc.
Would I be better off If possible opening these files(If Possible) In DPP without using firstly my default browser, as I seem to be getting a slight Image degradation.

Opening raw files and closing them multiple times will not do any harm or make any changes to the quality of the images.
Every raw converter/viewer will interpret the raw data differently though, so you will get slightly different results with the default settings.
I'm not sure if FastStone actually shows you the de-mozaiced raw image or the in-built jpeg thumbnail?

It has the option of doing either. By default it shows the embedded jpeg. If, while viewing a cr2 file you press 'A' then it will show the raw file - after about 20 seconds!

How do you download the files of a reader to open In DPP, as I cant find a download tab?

Thanks, Frank, I didn't know that. :)
