The demo engineers stated that because of the way the building was constructed (all 4 corners were where all the load was), that made it easier to have it fall into itself. Plus the south side (left side in pics), has the railroad line right next to it so they had it configured to fall just like cutting down a tree so nothing would spill over to the rails.
