I like everything except the skin color...looks like excessive reds, especially in the hands and arms. Was it color corrected? ;)

Looks slightly OOF to me. Or perhaps overly softened in PP.
Like it otherwise.

Thanks for the comments.

She actually is a little sunned and she was sick yesterday so her skin is pretty accurate given the circumstances but I can go back and try to work on that anyhow.

I didn't do any softening but did run a noise reduction on it. I think that's what softened it up a bit. I'll tinker with that, too. :)

I can see the difference. It does look a bit greenish on my screen though. Maybe it's my monitor.

I agree!
You have 2 separate colour problems - over saturation (esp the green) AND a slight red cast.

This question might be better posted elsewhere but it seems like all my pictures come out of the camera a bit over saturated. I do not add any saturation to my pics and actually I take them down a peg or two.

Is there something I can adjust in my camera?

It's late in the conversation but...if you're shooting jpeg the colors are already baked in by your camera...it's doing the PP. You would be better served shooting RAW.
If you're shooting RAW it's your PP program that is causing the over- saturation.

Pic is cute. The first has too much red and the second one has some strange color casts on the skin. ( The skin has green and orange patches )

I always shoot RAW. I use Canon's DPP for RAW conversion. But they look over-saturated there before I touch the first control. I'm stumped.

Do you have Lightroom or PS CS6? If not why don't you download a trial version of Lightroom from the Adobe website and see if you get better results. Try auto white balance or daylight first in Lightroom and start from there. See if you get better results. Is your monitor calibrated?

Remember that DPP uses your in-camera image processing settings (picture style, contrast, saturation, WB, etc.) as a starting point for Raw conversion. Depending on your in-camera settings, you could very easily have oversaturated images before making any adjustments in DPP. If by chance you are using Portrait picture style, that can definitely lead to some overly strong reds in the skin tones.

The good news is that you can change all of those settings easily in DPP. For subtle changes to skin tones, adjusting the "Color tone" slider to a positive value will shift some of the red over to yellow. For a more dramatic change, changing picture style to Neutral with 0 adjustments ought to give you a decent starting point with little chance of oversaturation.

Otherwise, speaking as someone who knows next to nothing about portraiture, I like the image. Great expression on the subject's face! The skin does seem overly soft.

So I have just returned from my camera's menu and guess what I discovered after having this camera for over a year (bought used from this site)? The picture style was set to some custom standard - not the regular standard. I now have a bruise where I slapped my forehead. DUH!

I took a few test shots of an innocent victim in my home just to see how the change affected skin tones. Wow! HUGE difference! Skin went from orangey-red to normal. I can't believe I missed this and I'm so glad you all lead me to this discovery. Now maybe I won't have to deal with the weird skin tone issues I have been.

THANK YOU!! :)
