Love your work and these are no different. I personally prefer the shots on location as, well, that's just what I prefer. But your studio stuff is very excellent too!

=Ingerson"PCD";15837303]Great work Phamster. The little girl is awesome! lol

I agree that the little girl looks nice, but the scene is REALLY bizarre. The wall seems to be made out of the stuff that is used to upholster old fashioned chairs. And the floor is really dirty and the paint is flaking. Since the padded wall upholstery is "clean" and the floor is "dirty" it would appear that either the wall or the floor (or both) are fake backdrops.

But that's the bizarre part. If a professional photographer is going to use artificial backgrounds, he/she can control what is used. ... So why choose such incongruous finishes?? It was a conscious decision to pick a padded/stuffed upholstery finish for a wall, and then plop a young girl in a pristine, white wedding dress on a dirty, flaking, pealing floor?? Bizarre.

But the little girl is pretty.

If for some reason the artistic desire was to create the "grunge" look, I guess that's cool. But how does the quilted upholstery fabric wall fit in?? If the artistic intent was to put the child in a padded cell, I guess that could be cool as well, but the dirty, flaking floor doesn't seem to fit anything in that scenario.

But the little girl is pretty.

I'm sure I'm missing something, because there are a lot of oooohhss and aaaaahhhhhss being hailed. I'm definitely up for learning, so I look forward to all the explanations that are going to soon be flooding in, extolling the virtues of those BG choices and how they create such an artistic masterpiece. I'm also preparing to receive a tongue lashing from all the fans, after all, how dare I question Mr. Pham's artistic eye. But how else am I going to learn if I don't ask what appears to be patently obvious to me??

But the little girl is pretty.

Maybe it's just our different taste. I don't see the background as an issue like you do. It's a great photo as is.

It's all subjective. I don't see the padded wall as an issue, nor do I see the "rustic" floor as an issue. I do have to ask about the "grunge" look comment though. How is that photo grungy, becasue it's taken on an old floor (or perhaps a backdrop of one)? THAT doesn't make sense.

Did I mention it's all subjective? I like the photo as it is- it's sweet...classy...cute...creative... That's just my subjective opinion on it.

Yup, there's no accounting for taste, that's for sure. I just hope there's no lead in the paint chips from the floor.

Cute kid, well lighted, I like her in the dress, very happy.
