The only downside I can see from reading about the new lens is that it is only for APS-C camera bodies, a real bummer for those who use full frame cameras. But look at it this way: Sigma is totally capable of releasing something like this (like make a 24-70 f/1.8? Please?) for a full frame camera. Honestly, it’s only a matter of time.

Can't wait for this, but I'm prepared to be depressed once the price is announced lol. I'm thinking anywhere between the $800-1200 range.

Wow. Really? I don't remember ever seeing a zoom with a 1.8 before.

All I can say is: Bad Ass. I was considering jumping to full frame for the likes of the 16-35 for star pictures but damn a 18-35 at 1.8 is amazing. Also a great walkaround.

Awesome idea. I think I would rather have a 35-70/1.8 though for crop. I could probably get away without my 30/1.4, 50/1.4, 85/1.8 and my 24-105 for that. Ultimately though I think full frame is where I need to go from here however.

that extra 2mm on 16-35 makes huge difference.
