3D: Digic 3, looks similar to 5D on the outside, FF, priced between 5D and 1DS RS

Now that sounds great - not believing it before it's on the CPS newsletter though.

might be a dumb question...probably is, but what is the "CPS newsletter" and where/how did you get it? screenshot/scan?

edit: oops, thought you had a comma in there saying "not believing it before, it's on the the CPS newsletter though."
commas sure do make a big difference.

The local Canon dealer here was saying that 350d replacement is coming with the name of 355d.
Now this sounds strange to me.

What date does the camera show actually start. I know its soon, I was just wondering when these rumours will finally solidify.

The convention (PMA 2006) technically starts on 26 Feb, but related activities start as early as 6am on 24 Feb. And Canon has scheduled a press release for 21 Feb.

And Photokina 2006 starts 26 Sep?

Do they synch this worldwide, or will our Antipodean members get the guff first?

Thanks, PMA was the one I was wondering about. So basically February 22nd is when everyone gets the shots of the new cameras and photoshops them to start rumours about what gets released at the september show.

It doesn't get synched. It's in Florida so all announcements are based on that time zone.

The best change to the 20D would be that it would come with all "L" lens!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

That's the only way I would ever get one.:(

Can you blame us? 9-months and 987 posts later (and still counting), the subject is pretty much talked out. Speculation upon speculation have been announced and discussed and rehashed time and again. Perhaps due to the proximity of the official announcements, now is the calm before the storm of I KNEW ITs, I TOLD YOU SOs, and WTF?!?'s.:)

I think everyone's given up on PS'ing "the new model", as they get shot down pretty quickly, in fact, some of what we've seen may be leaks, but I think they've all been shot down! Anybody with new questions get's the response "nobody know's, you'll have to wait and see!"
I agree though, that there's no need for repeating the same questions, the same answers, and the same guess of what will be released beyond the first couple hundred posts that were basically everyone's wishlist's. That was actually quite intersting, along with hearing some of the reasoning of why Canon probably won't do certain things.

Monday is going to be an interesting day for this thread, to say the least! I know reading this thread will likely be the first thing I do when I get home, if I don't check it throughout the day at work!

One more post to get us within 10 of 1000!!!! Looks like we're gonna make 1000 posts of speculation and rumors!!!!

Yeah but Canon is in Japan and I'm in that time zone so I'll be clicking refresh every 10 seconds while you are still sleeping regardless of how irrational it is.

HAHAHAHAH!! Aren't you jealous!!!!

I didn't think so.
