Depends on what you mean by that. If they make the announcement at 10.00AM in Florida that would effectively be 4.00PM London time, or 5.00AM in New Zealand (but the following day, if I'm getting my time zones correct).

So, basically it just occurs at a given time. They will not be making repeated announcements on the hour every hour for each time zone.

Yeah but Canon is in Japan and I'm in that time zone so I'll be clicking refresh every 10 seconds while you are still sleeping regardless of how irrational it is.

HAHAHAHAH!! Aren't you jealous!!!!

I didn't think so.

Canon is a company with Headquarters in Japan but the conference they are showing stuff off at is in Florida. It all depends where the announcement comes from. If it is from the Canon HQ then you are absolutely correct. If it is from an office or representative at the conference then you'd be waiting a while.

Me, I think I'll just check here and let someone else do the mad clicking. :)

I think everyone's given up on PS'ing "the new model", as they get shot down pretty quickly,

I don't know about that, I just finished making some upgrades to Pekka's original artwork. :)

Oh yeah, and 5 posts till we hit 1000. Who wants to push it over the edge.

And it better be with decent info, not complete wastes of space like this one. :)

We would have hit 1000 already but the threads stopped being merged. I think it was sabotage by the mods.;)

So, for the 1000th post, finally the truth. Canon will announce that they stop making digital cameras and go back to film. A whole new line of film SLRs will be presented

PS. With a little effort, we could even get to the 50'000 views!!!!!

Dang it, I wanted to be the 1000th post, I guess I just don't type fast enough. I heard a rumor that CANON was going to come out with a new format for its camera's. It's radical I know but here she goe's. You will actually open the back of this camera and put in a roll of something called "film" (I'm sorry but I just can't hold back my enthusiasm) A single roll will be like $3-6. Then you will take the film to a One Hour Kiosk and they will develop those into pictures. CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS!! You will be able to get 4x6's 5x7's or 8x10's. I myself will get all three. This is going to set Nikon back years, I hear they are doing digital (hahahahaha) I predict that won't last. Anyway, I guess we will know in a few days what Canon is going to do. The film thing sounds awesome! What will they think of next?

If that new fangled film idea takes off maybe they could later try something like a smaller, easy load cartridge. Maybe one that even lets you take photos in a choice of formats. Some kind of Advanced Photography System. I'm sure it would sell amazingly well.

A whole roll of film sounds confusing, I'd rather just load a single 4x5" sheet of film, one at a time into my camera, all while using a small glass magnifier to check the focus on the composure. SOOOO much easier than digital. :D
