flash 580ex ii

i have a canon flash 580ex ii
when i press the <High Speed Sync Button> on the flash NOT see the Lightening Bolt and the letter "H".
my camera is 7d.
i insert fresh batteries into the flash and attach it to the camera ,Turn on both units and verify that ETTL appears on the flash's LCD , but when i press High Speed Sync Button . nothing happen only see low speed sync,
the Custom Functions only is 00-0 to 01-1 , no change to 02 03 04.
can i program the flash with pc ?
or what i do ?

When you push the HSS button the first selection should be High Speed Sync. If you push it again you should get 2nd Curtain Sync. Finally, if you push it again it should return to normal, 1st Curtain Sync. Are you seeing any of these changes? If not, try going into the 7D menu and set the shutter sync to HSS using the shutter sync options in the External Flash Function menu. If neither of those work then I'm at a loss to explain what's happening. At that point I'd probably select Clear Flash Settings to make sure that you don't have something selected by mistake.

i try all of this method . nothing work ,
i looking for a way to programinig or update software flash with pc !
or reset factory flash.

Unless you're from Canon, no way to reprogram the flash firmware from PC. Maybe clean the connections between the flash and camera. Make sure that the communication is working by playing around w/ the other settings.
