The first shot is a 47-shot stack taken in the early morning in natural light. I have taken a couple shots of these snakeflies before, but only ones that were awake. This one was asleep, so I managed a stack to maximize detail. All the shots below the snakefly are creatures I have not photographed before. All photos except the jumping spider were taken in Topanga Canyon.
Unknown female jumping spider found in backyard. Single shot, 4:1.

Single shot of a Jerusalem Cricket. These creatures are enormous. I would estimate this one's body length at around 70mm. When I initially found it, I had the MP-E on the 6D, but even at 1:1 and a 35mm sensor, I could only get about half the body in the frame, so I switched to the 180mm. This is a single shot, natural light, f/16.

Unknown bee fly (Bombyliidae). This is a 26-shot stack in natural light in the early morning. This is the first bee fly I have photographed, and it was primarily possible due to it being asleep. I see them out in this area all the time, but they are far to skittish to allow me even a subpar shot when they are awake.

A female crab spider (Mecaphesa californica). This is a 14-shot stack taken in natural light in the early morning. I blew it on the number of shots (I could have gotten this depth of field with half that many or less).
