A curiosity took the best of me and I wanted to do a quick poll:

What's the monitor you're using and what you like/dislike about it? (I'm talking, of course, for photos/video processing)

Dell U2412M. I like it.
The 16x10 rather than the "standard" 16x9 is nice when viewing vertical images, a bit more fits on the screen.

Mine is a Dell 30" U3011 ultrasharp wide-gamut monitor. It's OK, but just "OK". I would prefer a high-performance monitor like a pair of 27" Eizos or NEC's 27" flagship monitor. The panel on my Dell is flimsy and unevenly lit. You usually get what you pay for and Dell makes a very good bang-for-the-buck monitor, but bang-for-the-buck also means there are some compromises. I would prefer a no-compromises monitor. ;)

I have just discovered Eizos, was looking at their specs and they look very, very nice, except the price tag.

The NEC's "color critical" monitors appeal to me as well. A solid step up from Dell for not too much more $.

I have a pair of Dell U2713HM 2560x1440 monitors. Yes, they're 16:9 instead of 16:10 but they're the same horizontal resolution as Dell's 30" monitor which is a lot bigger, more expensive, and more power hungry. I calibrated them with a Spyder4 and they tested out to over 100% SRGB which is enough for me.

Samsung syncmaster 2232BWplus, I'm happy with it. I will change to a mac mini with two Dell screens soon, this one hangs on my power book, but I have no complaints, my prints pretty much resemble what I see on the screen.

It leaves me wanting. . . . . . . a 27" version. ;) Simply the best monitor I've used, by a wide margin. Three years later and the factory calibration settings are still spot on. You can switch between my custom calibration profile and the default factory profile and not tell a difference.

Awesome! Thanks for the review and confirming my own suspicsions regarding how good they are. Now I want one or two even more!

NEC MultiSync PA241W with SpectraView calibration system. I have the same experience as Scatterbrained ... it's the best monitor I've ever used.

The HP LP2475w is my main monitor and I've been quite happy with it. I prefer 16:10 and at 24" it's a good size but not too huge. I would probably get another 24" to go along with it & replace the Dell 2007wfp I am still using as my secondary monitor if I had room. I can probably make it work but I just don't know how I want to rearrange my desk yet.

This is not an IPS monitor, is it? How does compare to IPS monitors?
