I'm trying some find a long straight (10m) TTL cord on ebay. Everything seems to be coiled..

(is a coiled cord as much of a pain as I imagine?)

I have two Vello coiled ones and I love them. Not as bad as you think.

Thats exactly what I was looking for. Not too bad prices either.

I guess now I wonder if I might as well get a radio set instead. Is there a good reason to go with either?

Very difficult for either you, your subject or anyone else to trip over radio waves and pull your gear crashing onto the floor. This cannot be said for cables!

A Pixel King product that lets you use inexpensive CAT 5 network cable to be the cord.

I use radio triggers and have cords as a backup, they're both cheap enough to have a set of each.

I used to use these before I bought ETTL triggers. They do work well... it is just annoying having the cord come off the camera.

If you can afford some triggers I would do that instead. A pair will run you about $90.

Ratjack, are saying you'd buy radio triggers before the cable? I think this is what I'll do anyway.. get the newer Yongnuo triggers and their newest flash. (and use my 565 as a second flash)

Yes. The cable worked well... but it was SOOOOO annoying. It was always getting in the way. The triggers are much easier to work with.

Thank God Yongnuo democratised quality ttl triggers freeing us from silly stupid cables for remote ttl.
