Think these birds are Dowitchers, but don't know if they're the short-billed or long billed variety. First time I've encountered this species.

The whole group was there for a short time, then all left but one. Got some good, close shots of that bird I haven't processed yet. Maybe those will make the ID easier. There seems to be a difference relating to the placement of the eye and bill that determines the different species. Think these birds are migrating as I've never seen them in this spot before. Also, Short-billed Dowitchers prefer salt water and Long-billed prefer fresh. That's not a fool proof characteristic but it does help some. Steve

Pretty much identifies these birds as Short-Bills, I think. Thanks.
