Not a delivery service rant here, just a funny coincidence:

I bought a new (to me) camera and a grip accessory this week from different sellers. One shipped USPS; One shipped UPS. The camera should've delivered on Wednesday, but I got notified by the USPS's new and improved tracking system that it accidentally was sent to Houston, creating a delay. The grip should've arrived today, per UPS tracking, but then it was updated saying it was routed to the wrong location.

Seriously? Is this some kind of conspiracy? Are the photography gods saying I should stop buying gear?

Too funny.

...the USPS's new and improved tracking system...

That's an oxymoron!

Why is this an oxymoron? If it is newer than the old system, it almost has to be improved. If it works badly, that is better than abysmal...

Might it be your address?

I noticed that UPS didn't say where it was sent - just the wrong location. Could your zip be similar to someplace in TX, where both shippers or delivery services confused numbers?

If not, I'll go with Rick - it's time to move!

You better check and see what street address/zip code you or Paypal gave the sellers. This happened to me once as there was a digit incorrect on the zip code. Good luck getting your stuff. I am waiting on a FedEx home delivery today.

All the addresses were correct in the system. One package went to Houston, the other only about an hour away from my home. My track record with all shippers has been almost perfect, so I think this was just a serious coincidence. Of course if this becomes a trend I will consider all of my options, including postal exorcism.

Perhaps he means the use of "USPS" in the same phrase as "new and improved"?

Although I've not yet had a bad experience with USPS.
