Thanks for posting this, just ordered one.

I just finished up building a new computer (i7-3770, 16gb, SSD, etc) about 2 am this morning specifically for Lightroom. I get the Newegg shell shocker emails but somehow missed this today.

Been a diehard DPP user for years and like it (especially the new DLO capability) but want to give Lightroom a real chance. The DPP DLO crawled on my old box (AMD Phenom II, 8gb), will be interesting to see the difference on the i7.

I know about the beta, the timing on the new computer worked out, I don't want to wait another 2-3 (or possibly more) months to get started with LR. I will have a lot to learn with version 4, can always upgrade later.

What is the typical cost of LR vs the upgrade?

I don't have LR and I'm trying to find the cheapest option

Student and Teacher edition should be cheapest for you (If you can manage the verification)
