The only thing that worries me about these is they look like they diffuse the focus aid lights too, how do you find that? The light is really good with these and there is enough light gets through to still use the focus aid lamps.

Yes, the white discs on the front also come off and are held on with the clips supplied ( you also get spares ) so this gives you the option to put some vellum paper or other diffuser material over the front before these are applied, this I will be trying myself tomorrow.

That was the problem I found but only if the subject is on a large flat surface, when in use outdoors I rarely have a problem. When I first received these I was testing on things like coins on the dinning table and 2x was the limit but when I put the coin on a raised surface like on top of a cup 5x was available, I suppose it's down to the shooting situation at the time, but we are always overcoming problems with any setup, like a twig or something blocking our path.

I have now become use to this and can tell at a glance what magnification I will roughly achieve before the shot. I have just made mine even better by putting a piece of diffuser material over the front before the caps, seems to work a treat...... But I would still like something smaller that would do the same job ![]() Makes sense, I was shooting on a counter top. I put some extra diffusion material in there too.

I ask this because my 550D was always overexposing, similar to the often documented 40D exposure problem. Whereas my 5Dc has no problem at all metering subjects with distant backgrounds. At some point I will want to upgrade and the MK2 is probably my next step. So I appreciate any info or experience you might have, thanks. ![]() I have never had any problems with the 5D11, I think you would love this body, the price is good at the moment too, pull the trigger m8, I'm so happy that I did
