Grand Am was at Road Atlanta for the first time this weekend...I enjoyed watching the racing, I have been a Grand Am fan for years...good to see them at my home track. These are just a few of my favorites from the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series...the race was full of cautions...which meant not much shooting. C&C is more than welcomed, thanks for looking.

#1 1/125 @ 300mm w/ 28-300L....had to crop to get the heads of the pros inside the fence out of the frame...

Good shots! I have some very similar shots (well, at lest the angles and times, maybe not the quality...). Probably stood near you and didn't even know it...lol

Great set. Where were you for #1 and #2? Is that turn 7? I was there for The Mitty last year and missed that angle.

Thank you. I saw a lot of other shooters on the spectator side...a lot more DSLR's and white lenses than there were at my last Grand AM event a few years ago...which one were you! I was in khaki zip off pants, and either a dark blue hoodie or white t-shirt with the 007 Aston Martin on it...later in the day I was the one with the lobster red arms and face!

Post yours up, would like to see how other saw it!

Nice! I was out there as well. We had the TopSpeed trailer at 10b.

Thank you. #1 and #2 are both Turn 3. This is a shot I had seen done by a crew that shoots the MVP event every year, and I have always tried to figure out where they were...and the reason it eluded me, is its in the spectator area...shooting between the two catch fences at the access road just before turn 3. It was harder than I thought it would be, to be at the right zoom range for the corner, the cars come through there pretty fast, and there is not much time to pick them up, track and shoot...at least its hard for a hack like me.

Thanks. I did not shoot from the outside of 10B, I should have, the light at the end of the day was great, but I had to leave before the end of the race to get home before the rugrat went to bed.

I love the shots on the rumble strips. That section of the track coming up the hill is a blast to drive. I just put up a thread that I'll be adding to as well on the day.

That it is. My car loves that track...even if it is one of the most dangerous in the country. Did you see that guy go off in the Continental race off 12? That was a hard hit...

So was I. That was part of the reason I came home with so many crap shots. It was fun though and that is what mattered that day at least! I'll post more soon.

I was there in the Petit Le Man Ogio Polo. Most of my time was in the "Esses" with my 400 or 200. Hopefully I will have time tomorrow to get some edits done so I can get them up.

Thanks, wasn't sure how that one would be received, a little cooked, and more processed than I normally do, but I liked it...it made a more interesting shot out of a standard shot.
