hello..i had juz bought the camera..still trying to understand wat the manual says..i went to take some pictures of river view at night..then i realise all the lightings came distorted..some sort of the lights of the image (building lightings) were stretched.. i use the slow-synchro mode coz its at night and dark except for the lights from the buildings..

and may i know what is the use of shutter speeds? ISO? is there any online tutorial you all can reccommend for me to refer to for beginners? and be it day or night time..when i take a picture..its blurrish..its not because of unstability of my hands but i am not sure why?

Hi.

V3 takes very good night pictures, if you just set the camera to manual and adjust the shutter speed to 1-15 seconds. (Has to be pretty dark, if you use those longer shutter speeds. If it's not dark, image turns out over exposed.) Flash is not necessary, if you don't take a portrait or something like that. You have to use a tripod or lay your camera on something, your hands won't be able to hold the camera still enough!!

You can't hear the sound of your video clip when replaying it in the camera. V3 doesn't have an integrated speaker. You can hear the sound when replaying clips on your cputer or tv.

Hope this helps a bit.

It is also advisable to set camera to delayed shot, (s30/50 has 2 and 10 seconds delay), so that when you press the shutter, you dont move the camera with your hands.
