At one time this ghost town was the largest city in Nevada, and the epicenter of the Nevada gold rush.

Those are some great shots. Did you use any HDR in these? The dynamic range is amazing, especially in the "garage" shot.

Thank you! They aren't HDR, just a single exposure from my Canon 6D, then some editing with Nik's Color Efex and Sharpener Pro 3

No HDR?! Wow! The colors really pop! Did you use a preset, and if so, which one? Lovin' the PP.

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?
Digital - 50D, 20D IR Conv, 9 Lenses from 8mm to 300mm
Analog - Mamiya RB67 Pro-SD, Canon A-1, Nikon F4S, YashicaMat 124G, Rollei 35S, QL17 GIII, Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex 1st Version, and and entire room full of lenses and other stuff

I shot these with my 6D using the 24-105L, coupled with a 3 stop ND filter and a CPL.

Then loaded them up in Lightroom, pulled back highlights and pulled up shadows, if needed
Then "edited in" Photoshop CS6 running them through Nik's Dfine filter, Color Efex with:

  • Detail Enhancer
  • Tonal Contrast
  • Pro Contrast

Then applied creative sharpening in Sharpener Pro 3

I agree, nice set. :) Haven't been to Goldfield in years. Your shots make me want to go back again.
