One More Time (Daft Punk Tribute) - Grand Rapids, MI 4.17.13

Doubt I've ever get to see or shoot the real deal, so this is the next best thing. One More Time, a Daft Punk tribute group just played a show at the venue I shot for. Looked and sounded just like the real thing. Even had the light-up suits which they turned on during the encore. The pyramid stage looked kind of flimsy though.

They were tough to shoot since the pyramid stage was too high to shoot from the pit and I wasn't allowed stage access. So I just walked around the venue getting wide & zoom shots.

The day after the show they posted some f my shos on their Facebook with my watermark cropped out (via Instagram I think). Very uncool.

Nice work! I especially like the last one.

Very uncool of them to re-post the pictures. Especially via Instagram. I have had that happen a few times and when someone puts a filter over your finished product and makes it look ridiculous it is extremely annoying...

Is there a follow up from your side?

Thanks Aardvark! A friend of mine saw the reposted photos and called them out on it on their FB. I don't think they every responded though. But what do you expect from a band that makes a living by ripping off another bands act?

Good photos, and I'm not surprised they wanted to use them ... nor surprised, really, that someone didn't credit as it happens all too often, but it is disappointing. Especially when they go to the lengths of cropping out your watermark and not even leaving your name - it costs them nothing.

Have had a theatre company use photos via instagram (without asking first) but they were at least good enough to use them without filters, with copyright intact (although somtimes cropped a little) and to write my name in the caption ... when they do that, it's easier to forgive.

Such a good light show, but damn these guys are deadset boring to shoot! (My opinion only!)
