I love the 5d3 focus system!!!

+1 on that. It's on par with my 1D4 and that's quite an accomplishment!

One of my best friends shoots with a 5DIII and I have the 6D and we shoot together pretty often. I've used his gear and he's used mine and both of us concluded that we'd be happy with either camera. He was really impressed by my 6D, he bought the 5DIII a few months before I bought my 6D and was skeptical that it could have IQ as good as his 5D for so much cheaper, but he's since put those thoughts to rest.

For what I shoot I honestly prefer my 6D, it has a simpler AF system (works for me), easy to replace focusing screen (EG-S should be here tomorrow, looking at my sig you'll see I like MF lenses ;)), it's noticeably lighter (I take my camera everywhere) and the WiFi is awesome :)

I prefer the small form factor and lighter weight of the 6D, however, the grip of the 5D3 felt much more comfortable in the hand. Something to consider is what lenses you have or plan to use. I can see the 6D paired up with lighter lenses like the new 35 f2 IS or 24-70 f4 IS. For my use, I carry heavier FF lenses with larger apertures so the AF system of the 5D3 was the better choice to get precise focusing.

Obviously it is a personal preference thing but I also like the stick a lot better than the pad.

I must be the odd man out here because I am not fond of the joy stick on my 7D. I much prefer the pad on my 6D. But as you say, it is a personal preference and I don't have any problem using either.

I bought the 6D because I like the size, I like the focusing system, and I like the price. The 5DIII is a fantastic camera but I'm quite pleased with my 6D.
