So I picked up a ContourROAM and have been using it to shoot my mountain biking and airsofting games but Contour Storyteller isn't an editing program.

I need something beginner-oriented for basic editing for white balance correction, leveling the framed footage and doing edits for breaks and merges of video files.

Curious as to what program I should start out with and if any of them offer free trials to test with.

Thanks!

Ditto One2nite. Vegas has stood me in good stead. You can trial it for 30 days free and it has various versions at various prices subject to the level of complexity you need.

That said, if you want to do more compositing I would go for HitFilm. The editing front end isn't as easy to use as Vegas but in all other aspects it is far more powerful and effective.

I use Premiere, but have also used Vegas and liked it alot. Also look into CCCP codec pack. After installed it will help you edit and play most all movie formats. quite helpful.
