I see it all the time, but I do not know how its done. I have my first art show and I have some framed items id like to display, how can this be done professionally and neatly? I know its all about presentation to attract people to your booth so links or help would be so tremendous. I keep googling it but not getting anything solid.

Thanks for any help!!

My father in law is a painter. He made some free standing units from PVC pipe (T shaped units) with wire grids so that he could hang work in his booth in a tent at an outdoor show. The most sucessful photography booths at the shows he attended didnt do framing at all, other than a couple of large display shots. Most of the work was mounted and matted in shrink wrap and placed either on risers or bins. He kept extra mattes so he could swap out if the customer was in need of a different color matte, but he told me that the cost of framing usually meant driving his costs too high for the crowd they attracted so he sold more work without frames.

Gonz, do you have any pics of this display? I have a county fair coming up that ive never been to so im not sure how the stands are setup, and I want something simple to hang my 16x20 or 20x30's on instead of spending an hour setting up chains like the last one. :D

No, I dont have any photos. But I'll describe it as best I can. He had some rigid wire grid panels, his were salvaged from something but you can easily substitute fencing panels from an agricultural supply store. His uprights were 2 inch pvc pipes with a T on the bottom with feet that extended perhaps 16 inches on each side for stability. He also filled those feet with sand for extra stability. The wire panels were attached to the pvc pipe with wire so that the resulting panels were roughly 6 or 8 ft long. He painted the whole thing black and then used S hooks to hang the work onto the panels. If I were to revise the design I might pour some concrete into the T feet for extra weight instead of sand. He used a EZ up style tent without walls so the panels were arrayed in a U shape to create "walls" for his booth.
