Maybe I have no clue how to use my camera ;) But when I half press the shutter, I don't see any focus point light up. And my combo seems to focus so fast I'm unsure at times. Is this normal? I thought it normally would show a quick red flash on the particular focus point.

You can turn that on or off in the menu settings! It's probably set to off!

Thanks, I'll have to find it. I know it lights up when I use a selectable AF Point :) Guess I'll have to read the manual again tonight.

That might be it also... ah the joys of re-learning how to use all the functions and the many more new ones after not having a camera for 3 years or so.
