Thanks, Vinz.. basically wide open as I could.. Shot with a 24L II - 25 seconds, ISO 3200 F1.8 . It's a single shot... with a bit of light painting done on the tower itself.

Thanks! Yeah, Vinz, I predominantly shoot single shot if I can. I know people get good results with multi exposures but I like the challenge of shooting most of my stuff In a single 30 sec frame.

i'm keeping notes. next time i get a chance to visit a non-light polluted place, i will try that.

1 question though. why wide open when you can stop down and use bulb mode for extended exposure? you can then lower your ISO. just curious.

Extended exposure would lead to star trails. Wide open lets in the most light so you can get the Milky Way in nicely.
