Nice, Gene - I wish they would do this more. We've got a few here and there in DFW, but I'd love to see them everywhere. Building murals are the best.

Thanks Todd. I agree that it's too bad there aren't more building murals around. I miss seeing the "Chew Mailpouch Tobacco" on the roofs of barns too. :D

While my friends were showing me the Mississippi, they excitedly pointed out a couple of female eagles sitting on the top of a building overlooking the water. Needless to say, the 100% crop inset shows them for what they really are...turkey vultures.

When I lived in Belfast, the murals there were fantastic. Now they are slowly disappearing and changing. Shame I wasn't into photography back then...

That was the closest thing to getting a shot of an eagle I had during my whole trip. :D

Because of the recent flooding, all traffic on the river was at a standstill. Here's a towboat waiting for the water levels to subside. Note how close the water level is to the highway we were on.

Cloest I have gotten a shot of an eagle:

The shot was taken at a zoo though, doesn't look like it mind you - blue background is wonderful bokeh of a wooden barn door, so you can't make out the slats. 1 arm holding a sleeping 1yr old, camera in other hand, it was on AV mode, so I took the shot.

We do have a couple of eagles, wild, about 5 mins walk from where I live, so hopefully I'll get a capture of one of them...

I have a Canon 5d3 which I occasionally tether to my Samsung galaxy 10.1 using dslcontroller (see*www.dslcontroller.com).Whilst playing around with the setting last evening I discovered that if I set up my tablet as a wifi hot spot, and then connect to my Samsung s3, which also has dslrcontroller installed, I can control my camera with my s3 through my tablet...imagine the possibilities...
