The camera chases the middle of the meter, you CANNOT set + or - EC to try and push the histogram to the right. Canon gave everyone 95% of what they wanted with auto ISO, but left out probably the most important 5%. Hopefully someday a firmware upgrade will address the issue. I asked Canon about a Firmware upgrade to improve this. They said nothing is planned, but have passed on my 'ticket' to the appropriate dept. Perhaps if enough people made the same suggestion we might get it - it ought to be do-able... These are small, but the ones out there are far away.
