A few scenes from the impressive Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas designed by architect Moshe Safdie.

Note: The last shot is a "portrait" of a very life-like sculpture. The museum lighting made the shot an easy one, but the realism of the sculpture was very very impressive to me. :)

Quick question for OEM Canon grip owners...

is it worth buying the canon brand? why? Heard it's heavier than 3rd parties?

Quick question for OEM Canon grip owners...

I have a Zeikos grip for my 7D and its pretty nice but its definitely not as well made as they OEM grip I have for my 5DIII... The biggest difference is the flex and feel on the camera. I know third party grips can come really close to the look and feel of the OEM grip but they are all made of plastic whereas OEM is magnesium alloy. My Zeikos grip flexes enough for me to feel like I can't trust it for heavy loads and I would not want to put it on a tripod with a heavy lens attached (Think like the 85L or 70-200 F4 w/o the optional foot) whereas the OEM grip is rock solid.

The reason that the extra flex in the Zeikos grip doesn't bother me is that I only really use my 7D with long telephoto lenses that have a tripod foot where the grip is just an extra battery and shutter release. My 5DIII on the other hand frequently has heavy glass hung off of it so the OEM just made more sense to me... My thought process would have probably led me more towards a third party grip if I was using smaller/lighter lenses.

Hopefully this helps.

I have one of each(I recently picked up an OEM for reasons stated later).

My 3rd party one looks exactly the same as the OEM(inside and out), it has metal plates inside just like the OEM(some 3rd party don't-stay away from those if you want to use the tripod mount). The only thing that feels different is the buttons are harder to press(that's harder not hard-locations are the same-multi controller feels the same). The plastic shell is the only real difference.

I ended up getting the OEM one because of the metal shell for the times I'm carrying dual bodies on a sling and my 5DIII will have a good chance to not have a long lens with tripod collar. The plastic shell with internal metal plates would likely be fine for this but I'd rather be safe than sorry when hiking around all day with it hanging from it. I didn't sweat it when using my single sling as while hiking around I'd have it attached to a telephoto but would let it hang with the shorter lens from the second mount Carry Speed slings have(telephoto would be left on the main mount) when not on the move.

Yeah in that case I'd definitely go OEM, if you mounted your BR to the 70-200 like I I do with big lenses then 3rd party would be fine.

OEM grip is also on sale right now so it's only about $200 for piece of mind.
