Glad I found this thread....put my offer in yesterday and got an email advising Adorama is shipping out today. Saved few hundred dollars. Good stuff.

OK, good - so as I said above, drop me a line if there are issues with the exchange

Will do! It appears all is going well though. Shipped the lens back today and now the long wait until I get the replacement lol :p

Andrew at GreenToe has been emailing and brokering a deal with me all day. We finally came to terms and my 100mmL macro lens shipped today. Very excited, can't wait to get it.

Question for you old photogs, is it normal for camera vendors to require signatures on shipments? I have been an Amazon buyer for years, bought many 'expensive', big ticket items, and never had to worry about being home for delivery.

We have a detached home with a fenced front porch, and we have always had deliveries left at the front door.

We almost had a deal breaker because unique photo wanted a signature. We both work days and will likely never be home when a delivery is made.

Michael

What I had 10 years ago (All gone, don't ask.):
70D, 100L macro, Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD, Magic Lantern, 600ex-rt, FotoPro Mini5, Macbook Pro 15" i7.
What I am looking at now:
I am going to start with the 24-70 2.8 glass. Some R body to pair it with.

Yes, most do require signature.

Easy fix though. Request hold for pickup. Both UPS and Fedex offer this. They hold the item at a local facility and you can pick it up whenever. That is what I do. I like it because it is available first thing in the morning.

Not to start a whole new filter/no filter debate, but save your money unless you shoot in extreme locations, with lots of blowing dust, or sea spray, etc.

One time only. They just had a set of special codes which expired on halloween.
